  • Stewardship2023 | St. Jude's Episcopal

Stewardship 2023 Dear Brothers and Sister in Christ, What a year 2022 has been. We have slowly moved to what we see as the new normal for St. Jude’s. Our on-line worship service is second to none, what a marvelous job Michelle, Patrick and Tarquin are doing. It doesn’t replace in person worship, but it is a great substitute when we are unable to attend. This year’s theme for stewardship is “Let’s Get in the Boat”. Pastor V’s sermon in mid- July shared with us that both oars (works and faith) must be in the water and move at the same rate to go forward. If one oar pulls stronger than the other you end up going in a circle. St. Jude’s in the past has had difficulty in steering the boat in one direction, but now we have our facility in excellent order and we can focus our oars on faith rather than just works and move forward together. The lay leadership has taken hold and is moving forward with the help of Pastor V. Eucharistic Ministry visitations have started for the shut in’s, our Youth Committee has been extremely active and are ready to call a Children and Youth Minister Facilitator, and we have a new nursery attendant and bookkeeper. Our Search Committee is receiving names and going through the interviewing process to call our new rector. We are moving forward using our time, talent and treasure. Well done!!! This truly has been a significant year for St. Jude’s despite the economic outlook for 2023. Inflation has affected all of us. Please look at the enclosed pamphlet to see our income and expenses for 2022 and our projected budget for 2023. Our Finance Committee is working diligently with our many ministries to develop an effective budget, but we still are expecting a 15% increase in expenses. This includes a Children and Youth Minister Facilitator, funds for our new rector position, and a 5% increase to all staff to help with the effects of inflation. Please bring/mail/ e-mail your 2023 pledge card or submit your pledge online at https://www.stjudes.us/stewardship2023 by Commitment Sunday November 6, 2022. Please keep in mind that the back of the pledge card is just as important as the front. Time and talent are required on this three legged stool of stewardship to make St. Jude’s the best that it can be. Let us all move forward in the boat with both oars in the water making St. Jude’s the best it can be and be Disciples of Christ. Eric Eric W. Kosche, Chair Stewardship Commitment Sunday is November 6, 2022. Please bring your pledge card to church that day and place it in the offering plate or bring/mail it to the church. St. Jude's Episcopal Church 200 North Partin Dr. Niceville, FL 32578 If you would like to submit your pledge via e-mail, please click on the buttons below to complete the online pledge card and online gifts to share. Pledge card for 2023 Gifts I want to share in 2023

GOVERNING LAW These Terms of Use and your use of the Site are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida applicable to agreements made and to be entirely performed within the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles. 16. DISPUTE RESOLUTION Informal Negotiations To expedite resolution and control the cost of any dispute, controversy, or claim related to these Terms of Use (each "Dispute" and collectively, the "Disputes") brought by either you or us (individually, a "Party" and collectively, the "Parties"), the Parties agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute (except those Disputes expressly provided below) informally for at least thirty (30) days before initiating arbitration. Such informal negotiations commence upon written notice from one Party to the other Party. Binding Arbitration If the Parties are unable to resolve a Dispute through informal negotiations, the Dispute (except those Disputes expressly excluded below) will be finally and exclusively resolved through binding arbitration. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT WITHOUT THIS PROVISION, YOU WOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUE IN COURT AND HAVE A JURY TRIAL. The arbitration shall be commenced and conducted under the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") and, where appropriate, the AAA's Supplementary Procedures for Consumer Related Disputes ("AAA Consumer Rules"), both of which are available at the AAA website: www.adr.org . Your arbitration fees and your share of arbitrator compensation shall be governed by the AAA Consumer Rules and, where appropriate, limited by the AAA Consumer Rules. The arbitration may be conducted in person, through the submission of documents, by phone, or online. The arbitrator will make a decision in writing, but need not provide a statement of reasons unless requested by either Party. The arbitrator must follow applicable law, and any award may be challenged if the arbitrator fails to do so. Except where otherwise required by the applicable AAA rules or applicable law, the arbitration will take place in Mecklenburg, North Carolina. Except as otherwise provided herein, the Parties may litigate in court to compel arbitration, stay proceedings pending arbitration, or to confirm, modify, vacate, or enter judgment on the award entered by the arbitrator. If for any reason, a Dispute proceeds in court rather than arbitration, the Dispute shall be commenced or prosecuted in the state and federal courts located in Florida, and the Parties hereby consent to, and waive all defenses of lack of personal jurisdiction, and forum non conveniens with respect to venue and jurisdiction in such state and federal courts. Application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the Uniform Computer Information Transaction Act (UCITA) is excluded from these Terms of Use. In no event shall any Dispute brought by either Party related in any way to the Site be commenced more than one (1) years after the cause of action arose. If this provision is found to be illegal or unenforceable, then neither Party will elect to arbitrate any Dispute falling within that portion of this provision found to be illegal or unenforceable, and such Dispute shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction within the courts listed for jurisdiction above, and the Parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court. Restrictions The Parties agree that any arbitration shall be limited to the Dispute between the Parties individually. To the full extent permitted by law, (a) no arbitration shall be joined with any other proceeding; (b) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be arbitrated on a class-action basis or to utilize class action procedures; and (c) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be brought in a purported representative capacity on behalf of the general public or any other persons. Exceptions to Informal Negotiations and Arbitration The Parties agree that the following Disputes are not subject to the above provisions concerning informal negotiations and binding arbitration: (a) any Disputes seeking to enforce or protect, or concerning the validity of, any of the intellectual property rights of a Party; (b) any Dispute related to, or arising from, allegations of theft, piracy, invasion of privacy, or unauthorized use; and (c) any claim for injunctive relief. If this provision is found to be illegal or unenforceable, then neither Party will elect to arbitrate any Dispute falling within that portion of this provision found to be illegal or unenforceable and such Dispute shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction within the courts listed for jurisdiction above, and the Parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court. 17. • About | St. Jude's Episcopal Church

About Us About St. Jude's Episcopal Church St. Jude's is a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast . The diocese is a part of Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States (ECUSA) , which is in turn a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We seek to be a faithful expression of Christ's One, Holy, and Apostolic Church on the Gulf Coast. We are a protestant Church. In the tradition of the Reformation, the Episcopal Church, like its Anglican forbears, has always worshipped and encouraged the reading and study of scripture in the language of the people. During the Reformation, that meant worship in English and translation of the Bible from Latin to English. Today, that means that contemporary language liturgies and contemporary music are available which make worship more accessible and meaningful for many people. Our worship originates from deep roots in the early church, and is in the catholic tradition, which includes: a sacramental understanding of worship; a strong liturgy in continuity with the best of the catholic tradition; a three-fold order of ordained ministers, including bishops, priests, and deacons; and bishops who are in the apostolic succession. We are a liturgical and sacramental church. Our worship is ordered in accordance with the Book of Common Prayer, which has its roots in the English Reformation and the first Book of Common Prayer written by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer in 1549. The liturgy provides a structure and shape to our worship that comes directly from the worship of the earliest church and even beyond, into the synagogue worship of our Jewish forbears. We celebrate the sacraments. We are also a deeply scriptural church. Each Sunday, we read and hear a very significant amount of scripture in worship. There is an Old Testament reading, followed by a Psalm that we all read responsively, then a New Testament reading from the Epistles, Acts or Revelation, and finally a Gospel reading. Preaching is deeply rooted in the scriptural readings for the day, and intended to open the scriptures' meaning for our own lives today. 2021 Annual Meeting Booklet 2022 Annual Meeting Booklet Staff St. Jude's Staff The Rev Blake Hutson rector@stjudes.us cell: 1(850)333-1753 Anna Wells Office Administrator Lois Henry Music Director Now Hiring Children's Minister Samantha Richard Youth Minister Map
