It is our pleasure to announce the calling of Rev. Blake R. Hutson to serve as Rector of St. Jude’s Episcopal Church, Niceville.

Blake was the unanimous choice of our Search Committee and Vestry. Bishop Russell Kendrick has affirmed the call and we are delighted to welcome him and his family. His first Sunday of ministry at St. Jude’s will be Sunday, January 15, 2023.

After graduating from Lipscomb University, 2001, Major: Bible, Minor: Biblical Languages,  he then entered Princeton Theological Seminary, graduating in 2004 with a Master of Divinity degree. Blake then attended The University of the South, The School of Theology, graduating in 2005 with a Master of Sacred Theology (STM)/Anglican Studies degree. His STM Thesis was “The History and Development of the Book of Common Prayer”.

In 2005, Blake was called to serve as Assistant to the Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in
Moorestown, New Jersey. In 2007, he served at St. Philip’s in The Hills in Tucson, Arizona as Assistant to the Rector. In 2012, he was called to Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Hoover, Alabama, where he has been serving as their Rector.

Blake and his wife, Christina, have a seven-year-old son, Wes. They will be leaving Alabama
before the end of 2022 and are looking forward to settling in Niceville, and having their son enter school in January after the Christmas break.

I know you will warmly receive Blake and his family as we welcome them into our church
family. We are eager to have the Hutsons join us in the next chapter in the life and mission of St. Jude’s.

God’s Peace and Blessings.
